Theara Chea

Hi, I’m Theara Chea! I’m a software engineer at Travelers Insurance, where I build event-driven systems that scale. My work spans distributed systems, cloud architecture, and full-stack development—from Kafka pipelines processing 40,000 events/min to microservices orchestrating workflows for underwriters.

I’m passionate about designing systems that are both powerful and reliable. Whether architecting data pipelines, building APIs, or optimizing performance, I focus on solutions that work at scale and stand the test of production traffic.

Technical expertise: Event-driven architecture, AWS, Kubernetes, Node.js/TypeScript, distributed systems, CI/CD

Current focus: Deepening my knowledge of AI, algorithms, system design patterns, and cloud-native architectures. M.S. in Computer Science from UIUC.
